This is the title of a book a friend recently mailed to us. I wish I had it sooner. I cannot put it down. It totally addresses how isolated I feel from the mainstream mommy-machine.
If anyone wants to read it after I am done, just say so, and I'll bring it to you at a meet-up!

This book sounds great...I"m going to check it out... I too feel isolated and disconnected; all of that....ofcourse I blame the overload of information and articles and books out there telling us what to do as mothers...I'm not immune to it, I read way to much babycenter, and seriously, in the process, and have come to the conclusion that there are way too many contradictions out there and I am slowly driving myself batty.

Amen to that. I find that when I listen to other mamas, especially good people, I get better advice, and more support. The books and "experts" will send you to the friggin' loony bin faster than my kid can throw his food on the floor.
